METAL FLOOR DECKING ROLL FORMING MACHINE

The client from United States visited MTC on April 23rd, a heavily raining day. MTC had been in touch with the client a month ago regarding the client’s inquiry of floor decking roll forming machine. After receiveing the formal quotation sheet, the client finally decided to visit MTC for a face-to-face meeting.

client visit to buy floor decking roll forming machine

The client is a construction company located in US and use a huge amount of floor decking sheets each year, specifically the 1.5″ deep B Deck. “Due to the high costs and late delivery time, it’s much better to buy a roll forming machine producing the sheets by myself “, the client told. “Apart from my own use, I know many business man do the same job, and I can sell decking sheets to them as well.” We can see a promising future is twinkling in his eyes and we will support him as much as we can.

During this meeting, the client understood about the details and specifications of the machine he really wants. For example, the client clearly pointed out a hydraulic decoiler is necessary. Labour cost is a big investment, as a result, automation is the first condition of buying a floor decking machine. To be honest, automation plays a big role in client’s decision to buy roll forming machines. Like another client that visited us last month.

ROLLING SHUTTER DOOR PANEL ROLL FORMING MACHINES

Mr. Wessel Bester is running a rolling shutter door facility in South Africa. Because of the need to upgrade his existing rolling shutter door roll forming machine, Wessel got in touch with us. The current roller shutter door panel machine has been working over 10 years, and cannot satisfy the current orders. Therefore, Wessel stronly requested full automatic roll forming machine for sale that would work from decoiling, roll forming and size adjustment.

MTC studied Wessel’s requirements carefully and provided the best solution, so Wessel decided to come to talk face to face. On April 26th, we have Mr. Wessel Bester visiting the company and Wessel was deeply impressed by our facility.

After the touring in our workshop, we sat down to talk about his needs and expectations. Apart from a roller shutter panel machine, a steel rolling shutter door track roll forming machine and an auto seaming machine are also on the list.  According to Wessel, he would go on with a rolling shutter slat roll forming machine for the next move. Right at this moment, most of the local rolling shutters are made of panels, so as a pioneering supplier of shutter doors, it’s a correct call to start rolling shutter slat doors.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ Which roll forming profiles are covered in the client meetings described on this page? ›

The page describes two main applications: one client sought a metal floor decking roll forming machine for producing 1.5-inch deep B Deck profiles, and another required a rolling shutter door panel roll forming machine with an associated door track machine and auto seaming equipment. These examples reflect typical custom orders, but MTC also supplies other or custom profiles. For your specific profile, contact MTC with your drawings so they can confirm tooling and machine design suitability.

+ What factors should I consider when choosing between a manual or fully automatic roll forming line for floor decking or shutter doors? ›

Automation was a primary concern for both clients featured here. The US floor decking buyer specifically requested a hydraulic decoiler to reduce labor costs, while the South African shutter door manufacturer needed full automation from decoiling through roll forming and size adjustment because his older machine could not keep up with orders. Your decision should be based on your production volume, labor availability, and need for consistent quality. Higher automation lowers per-part labor but increases initial investment.

+ What does a complete rolling shutter door production setup typically include besides the panel roll forming machine? ›

Based on the requirements of the South African client on this page, a complete setup often includes a rolling shutter door panel machine, a steel door track roll forming machine, and an auto seaming machine. Many buyers also add a decoiler for coil handling. Evaluating your full production workflow—from coil to finished door components—helps identify what auxiliary equipment is necessary. MTC can recommend the correct combination after discussing your target output and profile specifications.

+ How can I evaluate whether buying a floor decking roll forming machine is more economical than purchasing pre-formed decking sheets? ›

The US client on this page reached his decision after comparing the high cost and late delivery times of buying finished B Deck sheets. He determined that in-house production would be more cost-effective for his own large consumption and allowed him to sell surplus sheets to other contractors. To make your own evaluation, compare your annual deck usage, current purchase price, and delivery lead times against the machine investment, material costs, and operating overhead. MTC can provide machine pricing and assist with basic production cost estimates.

+ Does MTC support clients who are upgrading from an older roll forming line to a newer automated one? ›

Yes, although precise details depend on your situation. The South African case study here describes a client whose rolling shutter door panel machine had been running for over ten years and no longer satisfied order volumes. MTC studied his requirements and offered a best-fit solution that he then validated during a company visit. If you have existing equipment, share details about its age, condition, and the specific bottlenecks you face so MTC can advise whether a full upgrade or component-level improvements are more practical.

+ Why is a face-to-face factory visit recommended before purchasing a roll forming mill? ›

Both featured clients arranged face-to-face meetings after receiving quotations, and their visits allowed them to see MTC’s facility and workshop firsthand. For the South African client, touring the workshop made a deep impression and built confidence. During such visits, buyers can view build quality, see real machinery setups, discuss engineering details directly with the team, and clarify specific requirements such as decoilers or automation levels. MTC welcomes interested buyers for meetings to support these technical and purchasing conversations.

+ What information should I prepare before contacting MTC about a floor decking or door panel roll forming machine? ›

To receive an accurate quotation and machine recommendation, be ready to share the specific profile you need (such as B Deck or shutter panel type, with dimensional drawings if available), your expected material width and thickness, production speed or daily output targets, coil sizes, and any auxiliary equipment requirements like decoilers or auto cut-off. Also list your electrical supply specifications and level of automation desired. MTC used similar details to tailor solutions for the US and South African clients described on this page.
