Installation & Commissioning for OPP Coated Roof Panel Roll Forming Machine
According to client’s request, MAXON sent its technicians and electrician to Myanmar for the installation and commissioning of opp ¹ coated roof panel roll forming machine that was shipped in the end of May, and this roll forming machine would produce metal roofing sheets with OPP material coated.
The installation team stayed in Myanmar for 4 days and finished the job perfectly. After the installaton jobs, this OPP coated roof panel roll forming machine, Under the control of Panasonic PLC computer system, is running both automatically and manually from auto decoiling, auto pre-cutting, OPP coating, roll forming, and auto cutting in accordance with the required lengths and quantities.
The roof panel roll forming machine produces metal roofing sheet with 740mm effective width from 914mm raw material width and 0.15-0.5mm thickness, this metal roofing sheets will be coated with 3-4mm thickness OPP material during the roll forming. Through the control system, this machine can cut different lengths of products, and final pre-cut automtically when all the required sheets are finished.
OPP: ORIENTED POLYPROPYLENE
“Relatively new to the decorative overlay category, these films are stretched (oriented) in both the machine and cross-machine direction to deliver improved dimensional stability. In addition, OPP offers resistance to water and chemicals.
Because of its non-absorbent print surface OPP is ideal for high fidelity wood grain prints and decorative patterns. OPP films may be embossed and are typically coated for scuff, scratch and stain resistance. Oriented polypropylene films are available in thicknesses ranging from 0.9 to 2.2 mil (23 gsm to 56 gsm). Typical applications include RTA furniture, cabinets, wrapped profiles, ceiling and wall panels.”
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purpose of OPP coating on roof panels produced by this machine? ›
OPP (Oriented Polypropylene) coating is applied to the metal roofing sheets to enhance durability. According to the page, OPP films are stretched in both directions during manufacture, which improves dimensional stability and provides resistance to water and chemicals. This coating is commonly used for decorative wood-grain finishes and helps protect the metal from scuffing, scratching, and staining, making the final roof panels more suitable for demanding environments.
What raw material specifications does the roll forming machine require for producing OPP-coated panels? ›
The existing page indicates that this specific machine processes raw material with a width of 914mm and a thickness of 0.15–0.5mm. These material dimensions are used to produce a finished metal roofing sheet with an effective width of 740mm. If you are planning to use this machine, you should verify that your coil supplier can provide steel within these width and thickness tolerances to achieve the expected output.
How does the OPP coating layer integrate into the roll forming process? ›
Based on the description, the machine performs the OPP coating application inline during the roll forming operation. The coating is applied at a thickness of 3–4mm onto the metal sheet as part of the continuous sequence from decoiling, pre-cutting, coating, and roll forming through to final cutting. This integrated approach means coating and forming happen in one pass, which helps streamline production compared to separate coating and profiling steps.
What control system is used on this machine and what operations does it manage? ›
The machine is controlled by a Panasonic PLC computer system. It manages both automatic and manual operation modes. The control system coordinates all stages of the process, including auto decoiling, auto pre-cutting, OPP coating, roll forming, and final cutting. It can also be programmed to cut panels to different required lengths and to automatically stop or pre-cut when the required quantities of finished sheets have been produced.
How long does installation and commissioning typically take for a machine like this? ›
For this particular project in Myanmar, the installation team completed the work in 4 days, and the description states the job was finished perfectly. However, installation time can vary depending on site conditions, the experience of the local crew, access to required utilities, and how quickly assembly can be coordinated. It is advisable to confirm with the manufacturer what specific support and estimated timeline they would provide for your installation site.
What operational capabilities should buyers expect after commissioning is complete? ›
After commissioning, the machine is expected to run both automatically and manually. It should handle the full line of operations from feeding the coil through to cutting finished panels at required lengths. In this case, technicians verified that the machine produced panels correctly before handing it over. Buyers should arrange for a commissioning checklist that includes testing automatic cycles, verifying cut tolerances, and checking the OPP coating uniformity across the sheets before accepting the equipment as operational.
Can the machine be customized to produce different panel profiles or widths? ›
The page describes a specific configuration that produces a 740mm effective width panel from 914mm raw material. Roll forming machines are generally designed with a particular profile in mind, but the manufacturer can provide customized options when you specify your required profile shape, width, and material thickness. Contact MTC Industrial with your exact panel drawing and material specifications to determine whether your profile can be accommodated on this model or if a different configuration would be needed.
