Delivery of EPS/Rockwool Sandwich Panel Production Line
We delivered an eps/rockwool sandwich panel production line to one of our domestic clients on the 1st of April, and this production line will make both metal roofing and wall sandwich panels with both EPS or Rockwool available as the core or insulated materials.
The EPS and rockwool sandwich panel production line consists of decoilers, roll forming machines, hat purlin roll former, a simple slitter, feeding tables for core materials like EPS/XPS board or Rockwool/Glass Mineral wool strips etc, edge bending machine, main pressing machine and fly-saw tracking cutter.
The finished products metal roofing or wall sandwich panels with are usually made from pre-painted steel as the facial materials (top and bottom layer) and EPS/XPS board or Rockwool/Glass Mineralwool strips as the core materials. The whole production line will be running fully automatically (EPS/XPS board or Rockwool/Glass Mineralwool strips will be fed into the machine manually) including roll forming, pressing and cutting through PLC control system.

Frequently Asked Questions
What core materials can this sandwich panel production line handle? ›
Based on the delivery details, this production line is configured to work with EPS (expanded polystyrene) or XPS board as well as Rockwool or glass mineral wool strips. These materials serve as the insulated core layer between the top and bottom metal facial sheets. The finished panels can be used for both roofing and wall applications, thanks to the line’s ability to switch between these core materials.
What are the typical width specifications for the steel facial sheets in the Z Lock wall and roof profiles? ›
For the Z Lock wall profile, the upper and lower feeding sheets are typically 1200mm or 1220mm wide. For the Z Lock roof profile, the upper feeding sheet is 1220mm while the lower sheet is 960mm. These values are from the delivery case described, but your final sheet width is determined by the required covering width for your specific profiles.
What steel material and thickness ranges can be used as the facial layers for the panels? ›
The line is designed to process Galvanized Iron (GI) or Pre-Painted Galvanized Iron (PPGI) coils. According to the delivery specifications, the steel thickness can range from 0.3mm up to 0.8mm. Always confirm steel compatibility and exact thickness parameters with our engineering team based on your substrate requirements and the structural demands of your final panel product.
Can the production line make both roof and wall sandwich panels of different thicknesses? ›
Yes. The described delivery was for an EPS/Rockwool line capable of producing both roof and wall panels. The Z Lock profiles can produce panels with a total thickness ranging from 50mm to 250mm. The required panel thickness is adjusted via the machine’s settings and the size of the core material strips that are fed into the line.
How is the precision of the cutting operation ensured with the fly-saw tracker? ›
The production line uses a fly-saw tracking cutter that operates under the control of a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). This system synchronizes the saw’s movement with the speed of the continuously forming panel during the pressing stage. This automated control is what allows the line to make accurate length cuts without stopping the entire production process.
What are the standard electrical requirements for installing this production line? ›
The technical specifications from the delivery page indicate the line’s control system is designed to run on a 380V, 50Hz, 3-phase power supply. It is important to verify that the power available at your facility matches this standard. If your site operates on a different voltage or frequency, please contact us to discuss potential transformer requirements.
How is the production line controlled and what automation can I expect? ›
The line is controlled by a Panasonic PLC system with a touch screen interface and transducers for monitoring and control. Omron encoders assist with material tracking and positioning. Aside from the manual feeding of core material strips, the roll forming, pressing, and cutting sequences operate automatically, ensuring consistent pitch and profile dimensions throughout the run.
